The D'Var was an Orion D'Var-type science vessel that was in service in 2259. The ship's captain was Harr Caras. One of his crew was Astrea Tendi, the great-grandmother of 24th century Starfleet officer D'Vana Tendi.
The ship was credited with the discovery of the Krulmuth-B time portal, located on the planet Krulmuth-B. (SNW: "Those Old Scientists")
