The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is a 2022 web television special and the second to be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Four. It was produced by Marvel Studios as a Special Presentation for Disney+, and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film was directed by James Gunn, from a screenplay by written by himself, just as he did with the movies the special is based on, Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

• Nebula gifts Rocket with Bucky's stolen vibranium arm as an in-joke to when Rocket took interest in Bucky's arm after meeting him in Avengers: Endgame.

Cultural references[]

• The name of the special is an homage to The Star Wars Holiday Special in 1978, of which Gunn himself states is to be an "unironically" fan of.^[1]
