At Store 3473 in Las Vegas, Nevada, we partnered with some Google engineers and discussed how we collaborate to reduce friction for our customers and provide a delightful experience for our shoppers. It was great to get Google’s perspective regarding how we might better support associates and customers at Walmart. Store Leads Josh Gerry and Venessa Wagoner did a fabulous job leading us through the store and sharing wins and pain points their facility experiences. Thrilled to announce the pilot launch of the world's first commercially available conversational product search engine. In the next few weeks this is going live on Overstock.com & BedBathandBeyond.com. This upgrade to VAIS:Retail uses a back & forth conversation to help users narrow their queries to quickly get to the products they want. It offers LLM generated questions, and AI optimized question ordering & multiple choice ordering. Wanted to thank the team at Overstock/Beyond inc for their partnership, and the Google eng team that made this possible: Nikita Sidorov, Zhiyuan Ouyang, Shiva Zamani. So, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to speak at the Google Next Partner Summit in Las Vegas, during Kevin Ichhpurani’s keynote segment, “AI in Action: Our Customers’ Perspective”. David Ruddick and I discussed how our teams are digitizing and leveraging generative AI to transform retail. The past few days here in Barcelona for McDonald's Worldwide have been unforgettable – it’s a privilege to meet with so many people from across our System and learn more about how they use our technology every single day. I also had the incredible opportunity to share our vision for the future alongside our leadership team yesterday, detailing our plans to advance our technology strategy that includes creating the most productive and efficient restaurant platform in the industry! Key to this is our global partnership with Google Cloud to connect the latest cloud technology and apply generative AI solutions across our restaurants. I'm certain that bringing the Cloud into our restaurants will enable countless exciting new opportunities for us – and I appreciate Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian for virtually joining us at Worldwide to share more. As I prepare to head back to Chicago, I feel energized and excited by our time in Barcelona – and I have no doubt that our future is looking more promising than ever before! #WW24
