NEW AND RETURNING GAME MODES

Cutthroat

A brand-new mode to the franchise, Cutthroat introduces 3v3v3 action on Core Multiplayer maps. Operators have only one life per round; eliminate the enemy teams or capture the overtime flag to win the round.

Ground War

Players who love large-scale Multiplayer battles will be glad to know that Ground War is returning in Modern Warfare III. Compete in sections of the map that players will experience later this year in Call of Duty: Warzone.

War Mode

War mode is back! In this classic mode that was originally featured in Call of Duty: WWII (2017). Focus on competing in linear engagements and progressing the battle through a series of objectives. Secure capture points, escort an armed tank, and launch an ICBM — this is War.

WEAPONS

Modern Warfare III features the largest armory of weapons in Call of Duty history. With over 37 new weapons, plus the added customization of Aftermarket parts, and more, there are hundreds of unique weapon combinations for you to unlock.

Aftermarket parts

Aftermarket Parts, a new addition to Gunsmith, are innovative modification kits that drastically change a weapon's function and identity. They offer powerful enhancements beyond regular attachments, unlocked by completing weekly in-game challenges when a weapon reaches its maximum level.

Assault Rifle

Medium range Primary Weapons. Aiming down sights or Tac-Stance. Full-auto, usually. Average mobility. Often versatile due to attachment options.

Battle Rifle

Medium- to long-range Primary Weapons. Aiming down sights. Semi-auto or three-round burst, usually. Average mobility. High accuracy with high damage.

SMG

Short-range Primary Weapons. Aiming down sights, Tac-Stance, or hip-firing. Full-auto, usually. High mobility.

Shotgun

Extreme close-range Primary Weapons. Hip-fire, Tac-Stance, or aiming down sights. Variety of firing mechanisms. High mobility. Easiest weapon to spray.

LMG

Medium- to long-range Primary Weapons. Aiming down sights. Full-auto, usually. Low mobility. Mounting preferred.

Marksman Rifles

Medium- to long-range Primary Weapons. Aiming down sights. Semi-auto or bolt/lever action, usually. Above average mobility. More aggressive play preferred.

Sniper Rifles

Extreme long range Primary Weapons. Aiming down sights. Semi-auto or bolt/lever action, usually. Low Mobility. More patient play preferred.

Secondary Weapons

Secondary weapons are firearms or equipment that a player can carry in addition to their primary weapon. These secondary weapons serve various purposes and can be used in different situations to complement the primary weapon.

New Mechanics & Robust Customization

Give your favorite Max level Weapons a remix with Aftermarket Parts. 

TAC-STANCE

Breach and clear with the new Tactical Stance feature, a perfect middle-ground between hip-fire and aiming down sights. When entering tight hallways and cramped rooms, toggle Tac-Stance on to improve weapon performance and win the fight.

Evolving Loadouts

Modern Warfare III brings new levels of customization to Create-a-Class. Get ready to build your Loadout based on cutting-edge military equipment, such as gloves, tactical vests, boots and more; allowing you to fine-tune more aspects of gameplay.

Aftermarket Parts

A special set of customization options allowing you to focus on your preferred and specific playstyle. After-Market Parts enable you to construct unique weapon configurations or types as well as offering new progression paths, and challenges to unlock.

THE RETURN OF CLASSIC GAMEPLAY

Modern Warfare III returns to classic gameplay with map voting, red dot indicators on the minimap displaying where an enemy is when firing an unsuppressed weapon, starting with chosen perks at the start of each match, and more. Likewise, the Covert Sneaker Perk allows you to move around silently when equipped, and Core Multiplayer Health has been increased to 150 which lengthens the Time-to-Kill (TTK). Hardcore is not affected.

Movement in Modern Warfare III

When maneuvering in Modern Warfare III Multiplayer, expect the following movement abilities to affect your Operator’s general responsiveness: Slide canceling animations (i.e., “slide cancel”) but Slide Canceling does not reset Tactical Sprint, partial reload canceling (I.e., “reload cancel”) to immediately return fire, faster Mantling and Mantling while Sprinting speed, firing during and immediately after Sliding, Tactical Sprint duration increased dependent on weapon equipped, and Tactical Sprint recharging while Sprinting.
