The flavor and smell of this vitamin are both very tolerable. The benefits outweigh the flavor and smell. My daughter and I take this every night (along with liquid vitamin B complex by the same company) and we have found that the best way to take them is to put them in a little shot of cranberry juice and then pour into our mouth, let sit under our tongue for 30 seconds, then swallow. The cranberry juice helps prevent the liquid from sticking inside our mouth and makes it much easier to take without the offensive and overpowering flavor and aftertaste.
It has only been about a week so it isn't really long enough to determine how well it works yet. I will try and remember to update this review after a month or two.
