The Seaside Crate is a Hardmode crate that can only be fished in the Ocean. Seaside Crates contain items found in standard crates, and always contain one item normally found in Water Chests. Its pre-Hardmode counterpart is the Ocean Crate.

Note: Only one type of ore and one type of bar can drop, not both a pre-Hardmode type of ore and a Hardmode type of ore, or both a pre-Hardmode type of bar and a Hardmode type of bar. The table above implies otherwise with the respective groups being in separate rows, but that is for readability purposes. The chance that a type of ore is dropped is 14.29*1/7 (14.29%), and the chance that a type of bar is dropped is 25*1/4 (25%).

Notes[]

• The Seaside Crate can be obtained even if the Ocean biome is Corrupted/Crimson or Hallowed.

Trivia[]

• The crate seems to resemble a washed up nautilus shell with coral growing on the corners.

• Desktop 1.4.4:
  • Shark Bait is now in its own loot group and can thus now be dropped alongside the Breathing Reed/Inner Tube/Trident/Flipper/Water Walking Boots.
  • Increased drop chance of Water Walking Boots from 9*9/100 (9%) to 10*1/10 (10%).
  • Increased drop chance of Breathing Reed, Inner Tube, Trident, and Flipper from 20.25*81/400 (20.25%) to 22.5*9/40 (22.5%) each.
  • Reduced quantity of dropped ores from 30–49 to 20–35.
  • Reduced quantity of dropped pre-Hardmode bars from 10–20 to 6–16.
  • Reduced quantity of dropped Hardmode bars from 8–20 to 5–16.
  • Now used to craft the Ocean Crate via shimmer.
