Zenezians were a sentient species. The musician Infrablue Zedbeddy Coggins was a Zenezian,[1] as was Sudswater Dillifay Glon.[2] It was considered a major insult to refuse a musical instrument from a Zenezian.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Zenezians first appeared in the 2015 film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens,[2] but were not identified until the 2019 audiobook Choose Your Destiny: A Maz's Castle Mission, written by Cavan Scott. The spelling of Zenezian was unconfirmed[1] until Scott provided it via Twitter.[4]

The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion on the Jedi Council Forums (Literature board; posted by jasonfry on December 11, 2007 at 7:59 AM; accessed February 2, 2024): "I wouldn't get your hopes up re alien homeworlds, beyond simple stuff like the Planetnamian species getting a Planetnamia on the map or things Dan and I can account for with a relatively quick reference." (backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and Star Wars Galaxy Map, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. This article treats Zenezia as one such homeworld with regard to the Zenezian species.
