"Cyrstas Eloinie, the daughter of Darred Eloinie, CEO of Eloinie Petro-Munitions on Zaraksander, she finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time."
―Valken Gresh, Great Hunts I've Lived To Tell About[3]

Zaraksander was an astronomical object in the Expansion Region's Imberlin sector. It was the site of the Fioer desert, and an Eloinie Petro-Munitions munitions factory was located on the celestial body's southern continent.

At some point by 4 ABY, the bounty hunter Valken Gresh captured Zaglis, the Supreme Leader of the Neo-Fundamentalist Phlangites group, on Zaraksander. A day later, the forces of the Phlangites had kidnapped the daughter of the Eloinie Petro-Munitions chief executive officer while she had been participating in the Peaceful Dawn Rally demonstration. The chief executive officer subsequently recruited Gresh to retrieve his daughter from the Phlangites in the Fioer desert.

Description[]

"[…] the next thing he knows, old Darred is being hit up for 100,000 credits and a munitions factory on the southern continent."
―Valken Gresh, Great Hunts I've Lived To Tell About[3]

Zaraksander was a terrestrial astronomical object[3] located in the Zaraksander system, a part of the Imberlin sector[1] in the Slice portion of[2] the Expansion Region.[1] The surface of Zaraksander featured at least one continent.[3]

History[]

"…yeah, I swore I'd never risk running up against Zaglis and his NFP goons again—not enough profit margin in it—but the way it happened was like this…"
―Valken Gresh, Great Hunts I've Lived To Tell About[3]

By 4 ABY,[4] the Neo-Fundamentalist Phlangites were active on Zaraksander. At one point, the bounty hunter Valken Gresh brought in the organization's Supreme Leader Zaglis. During the process, Gresh had to escape from the Phlangites in Zaraksander's Fioer desert, leading the bounty hunter to swear off ever facing the group again.[3]

Around the same time, the Peaceful Dawn Rally was held, in which Cyrstas Eloinie, the daughter of Eloinie Petro-Munitions Chief Executive Officer Darred Eloinie, displayed her support for the causes of the Neo-Fundamentalist Phlangites. During the demonstration, the Phlangites kidnapped Cyrstas and demanded a ransom payment from Darred.[3]

Instead of paying the group, the elder Eloinie recruited Gresh to retrieve his daughter. Subsequently, on the following day after Gresh's initial encounter with the NFP forces and three hours after the bounty hunter's recruitment by Eloinie's underling, Gresh was in the Fioer desert again, although the NFP were aware of the hunter's imminent arrival. Later, Gresh recorded the experiences on Zaraksander in the work Great Hunts I've Lived To Tell About.[3]

Locations[]

"Three hours later, I'm back in the Fioer desert, going after the same bunch I'd just escaped from after bringing in their Supreme Leader…yesterday!"
―Valken Gresh, Great Hunts I've Lived To Tell About[3]

The corporation Eloinie Petro-Munitions was based on Zaraksander, with one of its munitions factories being located on the celestial body's southern continent. The Fioer desert was a region on Zaraksander where the Neo-Fundamentalist Phlangites had a presence.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Zaraksander was introduced in "You Never Can Tell," a short companion narrative included in the 1994 sourcebook Galaxy Guide 10: Bounty Hunters. The book was authored by Rick D. Stuart and published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Zaraksander system, and therefore the celestial body Zaraksander, in grid square P-14.[2]
