Z-1 was a canine-like droid created by thew Twi'lek Kalina Kalfus, who often fixed the droid if it malfunctioned. Z-1 functioned similar to an astromech droid, speaking only in robotic sounds and performing repairs on Kalina's space tug when needed, as well as recording and displaying holograms. Unlike other astromech droids, Z-1 moved with four legs and had a central, accordion-like body which can extend to reach high places. The droid also had a pair of flaps on its head that resembled dog ears.^[2]
