Situated in the Mid Rim Territories within grid square Q-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid, Yuw was an astronomical object[1] where the Dark Quarter was located.[3] The Llanic Spice Run[2] hyperspace route connected it to the Llanic system and[1] the planet[4] Mon Gazza.[1] In 1 BBY,[5] the Sith Lord Darth Vader traveled to Yuw after learning of a plot to assassinate him. He interrogated and killed several bounty hunters in the Dark Quarter in order to gain information on the Hidden Hand criminal syndicate, who were behind the plot.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Yuw appeared in the first issue of the 2019 comic-book series Star Wars: Target Vader, written by Robbie Thompson, illustrated by Marc Laming and Cris Bolson, and released by Marvel Comics[3] on July 3, 2019.[6]

  2. 2.0 2.1 Heir to the Jedi places the Llanic system at the intersection of two hyperspace routes, the Llanic Spice Run and the Triellus Trade Route. StarWars Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Rogue One? on StarWars.com (article) (backup link) identifies one route on a galactic map as the Triellus Trade Route. Star Wars Galaxy Map places Yuw on the other route and is shown to be connected to the Llanic system. Therefore, Yuw must lie on the Llanic Spice Run.
