Bibo

Bibo, the creature that prompted Jarek Yeager to enforce Yeager's Garage Rule Number Seven

"I try to keep my rules few and clear. Yeager's Garage Rule Number Seven is 'No pets.'"
"But—but—but I shall care for Bibo as my own body. He may have my bunk, my rations, my weekly payment. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please."
―Jarek Yeager and Neeku Vozo — (audio) Listen (file info)[1]

Yeager's Garage Rule Number Seven was a rule enforced in Jarek Yeager's Repair Station forbidding the presence of pets in the shop. In 34 ABY, Yeager enforced the rule after his employee, Neeku Vozo, brought the rokkna Bibo into the shop. However, the words of another employee, Tamara Ryvora, convinced Yeager to have a change of heart.

History[]

"What do we do?"
"I'll tell you what we're not going to do, let anyone hurt Neeku's friend. Get up there."
―Kazuda Xiono and Jarek Yeager, after the latter ignores his own rule to save Bibo[1]

Jarek Yeager's Repair Station, where the rule banning pets was enforced

A rule of Jarek Yeager's Repair Station on the supertanker fuel depot known as the Colossus, Yeager's Garage Rule Number Seven forbade the presence of pets in the repair shop.[1] In 34 ABY,[2] the mechanic and employee of Yeager, Neeku Vozo, broke the rule after bringing the juvenile rokkna Bibo into the shop. Despite Yeager sternly reminding Vozo of the rule, Vozo begged his boss to let him keep his pet, even offering for Bibo to receive his bunk, rations, and payment in his stead. After stammering for a moment, Yeager relented but ordered Vozo to ensure that Bibo did not get out again and told him that if the creature escaped once more, it would be forced out of the shop. Vozo then nodded excitedly and with extreme gratitude.[1]

Bibo later escaped once again, toppling several crates and the astromech droid R1-J5. Upon discovering the chaos, Yeager demanded that the creature leave. In response, Vozo declared that he would quit and ran off to chase Bibo. The mechanic Tamara Ryvora chided Yeager for his harsh enforcement of the rule, stating that they had helped out another employee, Kazuda Xiono, many times despite his more disastrous antics. After considering Ryvora's words, Yeager had a change of heart and informed Ryvora and Vozo of a disturbance in the Colossus Engineering Level. When a significantly larger rokkna attacked the station in an attempt to retrieve Bibo, Yeager further declared that he and his team would not let anything hurt Vozo's pet.[1]
