"The time has come for a face-to-face meeting. Come to star coordinates 2839.23 893.84 in one week's time and we will settle this."
―The Claw, in a message to a group of smugglers[2]

Yaronn was a Wild Space waterworld whose only significant landmass was a 200–square kilometer–large, forest-covered continent. During the Galactic Civil War, the Claw, a bounty hunter carrying a grudge against a group of smugglers, sent a message inviting them to Yaronn. There, the Claw prepared to hunt on the group, offering to cease hostilities against the smugglers if they evaded capture.

Description[]

Yaronn was an unexplored waterworld[2] located in Wild Space's Yaronn system,[1] at star coordinates 2839.23 893.84. Mostly covered by an ocean, the planet had only one major continent, a small landmass with an area of approximately 200 square kilometers. The terrain of the continent was dominated by dense forest, and its fauna was negligible.[2]

History[]

During the Galactic Civil War, the bounty hunter known as the Claw began terrorizing a group of smugglers he held accountable for the death of his brother, a mid-level Imperial officer. Eventually, the bounty hunter sent the group a message inviting the smugglers to a face-to-face meeting in order to finally resolve their differences. The message contained Yaronn's coordinates and instructed the group to travel there within a week.[2]

The smugglers were the first to arrive on Yaronn's sole continent, followed shortly by the Claw, who proposed a contest between the two parties. After an hour-long head start, the Claw and his cybernetically enhanced tracking beasts would begin hunting down the smugglers. The bounty hunter further offered to cease all hostilities toward the group if it managed to either evade the pursuers for an entire night or defeat the Claw himself.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Yaronn was created by Bill Olmesdahl as a setting for "Under The Claw," a roleplaying adventure hook published in the 1992 supplement Star Wars Gamemaster Screen for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Yaronn system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square T-5.[1]
