A base commanded by the B1-Series battle droid YIN-762 of the Trade Federation Droid Army was built on the planet Naboo in 32 BBY. The buildings in the base included a command center, an aquatic shipyard, a spaceport, multiple turrets, and processing centers for the resources available in and around the base. During the invasion of the nearby city Spinnaker by the Trade Federation, the B1 battle droid OOM-9 sent Neimoidian traders to YIN-762's base to trade for nova crystals.

Description[]

A base was established on the planet Naboo by the Trade Federation. It was commanded by the B1 battle droid YIN-762 and attended to by four OX9 labor droids, who gathered foodstuff from artificial farms and harvested carbon from trees. The base was near the southeastern side of the Naboo city Spinnaker and northeast of another Naboo village. The base was surrounded by trees with only one entrance in the northwest.[1]

Spinnaker main

YIN-762's base was located near the city Spinnaker (pictured).

The entrance was defended by a light turret and held a nova processing center used for storing nova crystals from nearby deposits. The base was led from a command center that was adjacent to two farms, a food processing center, a power core, and a spaceport. The southwestern side was bordered by a river on which lay an aquatic shipyard guarded by a light turret. The northern area of the base included an anti-air turret and a carbon processing center. The northeastern portion held an animal nursery, another light turret, and an ore processing center near several ore deposits.[1]

History[]

The base was established in 32 BBY during the Trade Federation's Invasion of Naboo.[1] While preparing to invade Spinnaker, the B1 battle droid OOM-9 captured the village near Spinnaker, from which he assembled Neimoidian traders, a type of repulsorcraft, to trade nova crystals with the spaceport in YIN-762's base. In doing so, OOM-9 was able to reach Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray's goal of extorting 10,000 nova crystals during the invasion of Spinnaker.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

YIN-762's base was created for the LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds,[1] which was released on November 11, 2001.[3] Prior to its appearance in the game, the base was first mentioned in Prima Games' accompanying strategy guide by Steven L. Kent,[2] released four days earlier.[4] In the game, the base appeared in the third level of the Trade Federation campaign, "Spinnaker's Spoils."[1]
