As talk pages inevitably grow larger, the time it takes to load them increases, and navigation becomes a chore. Content on talk pages are part of the public record and should not be deleted except in cases outlined in the Talk page policy. The solution is to archive talk pages instead.

Archived discussions are closed and should not be edited. If editing is required for technical reasons, such as link fixing, the purpose of the edit should be stated in the edit summary.

How to archive[]

  1. Create a subpage of the talk page you wish to archive. For example, Talk:Kreia/Archive1. Should "/Archive1" be taken, create "/Archive2", and so on.
  2. Copy the text you wish to move from the main talk page to the archive and use Template:Talkarchive to clearly denote archived content.
  3. Remove the now-archived text from the main talk page and link to the new archive via Template:Talkheader.

You should now have two separate pages: the main talk page, with the archived discussion removed, and the archive, with the archived discussions.
