This subpage contains instructions on how to archive past Featured article nominations and reviews. The archived votes can be found here and here. The Inquisitorius uses the functions of JocastaBot to archive nominations in Wookieepedia's Discord server's #status-article-commands channel.

Successful nominations[]

Once the minimum nomination period has passed, an article that has achieved the required number of supporting votes and has no outstanding objections will be officially known as a "Featured article." A nomination will be considered successful if one of the following criteria is met:

  • five supporting Inquisitor votes and no outstanding objections after at least two days;
  • four supporting Inquisitor votes, plus two additional supporting votes and no outstanding objections after at least two days;
  • three supporting Inquisitor votes, plus four additional supporting votes and no outstanding objections after at least two days

This table can be used to determine if an article is eligible to be removed from the Featured article nominations page:

Time elapsed Day 1

Day 2

More than 48 hours
Required votes
Cannot pass
Can pass with the following vote counts:
  • 5 Inquisitorius votes
  • 6 votes, of which 4 must be Inqvotes
  • 7 or more votes, of which 3 must be Inqvotes
  • Ensure that the Inquisitorius approval template has been added. If not, add the following to the Comments section:
~~~~~
  • Run the command (in #status-article-commands):
@JocastaBot successful FAN: NominationName
  • Add article to Wookieepedia:Featured articles (specifically the Canon, Legends, or Out-of-universe subpages as appropriate).
    • When adding article to Wookieepedia:Featured articles, display it like Bob (naval officer) or Victorious (Acclamator-class), as opposed to Bob or Victorious.
Failed nominations[]
Nominations that are inactive with outstanding objections after two weeks may be removed from the nomination list with a consensus of at least 3 Inq support votes. Featured article nominations may also be closed prematurely with a consensus of at least 3 Inq support votes if they fall below the required standard and cannot realistically be fixed.
Any nomination may be closed early at the request of the original nominator without the need for a consensus. Additionally, nominations in violation of rules 9 and 10 of the "How to nominate" section of the Featured article nominations page should be immediately removed without need for consensus or archiving.
Voting to remove[]
To initiate a vote to remove a nomination, add the following under the Featured article nomination's comments section:
Vote to remove nomination (Inq only)
The Inquisitorius member who initiates the vote should state clearly why the nomination should be removed. All Inquisitorius members should use the Inq template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose removing the nomination.
Removing nominations[]
  • Inquisitorius members can run the command (in #status-article-commands):
@JocastaBot unsuccessful FAN: NominationName
  • Nominators withdrawing their own nomination can run the command (in #status-article-commands):
@JocastaBot withdrawn FAN: NominationName
Overriding Featured article nomination objections[]
Inquisitorius members have the power to strike objections on the Featured article nomination page provided the objection has been addressed and the original objector has been absent for at least two weeks after an "objection addressed" comment is left on the Featured article nomination page. This requires a quorum of at least 3 Inquisitorius members approving the removal of the objection, and less than 2 opposed. Additionally, Featured article nomination objections can be struck by an Inquisitorius member if they do not fall under one of the rules. No vote is required.
To initiate a vote to override an objection, add the following under the Featured article nomination's comments section:
Vote to strike objection (Inq only)
The Inquisitorius member who initiates the vote should state clearly which objection needs striking and why. All Inquisitorius members should use the Inq template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose overriding the objection.
When the decision has been taken to override an objection, add the following as a comment under the objection, in addition to striking it:
~~~~~

Featured article status review[]

The Inquisitorius has the ability to strip an article of Featured article status. An overview of the process can be found here.

Tagging an article for review[]

  • Any user can nominate an article for Featured article status review if the article needs improvement. The two ways this can be done are:
    • Adding FAreview to the top of the article, then creating and filling out the resulting subpage.
    • Run the below command (in #status-article-commands), then create and fill out the resulting subpage:
      • @JocastaBot create review for NominationName

Review process[]

  • An article can retain its status when:
    • There are no outstanding objections left on the review page.
    • The review has been open for at least 48 hours.
    • Three Inquisitorius members have voted to retain the article's status.
  • An article under review can be sent to probation if:
    • Outstanding objections on the review page have not been addressed for over thirty days, without an extension request from any editor.
    • Major changes have been made to the article since its original status nomination.
  • An article can have its status revoked if:
    • The article has been on probation for over a month, with objections still unaddressed.
    • Three Inquisitorius members have voted to remove the article's status.
  • An article can have its status instantly revoked if:
    • The article violates Featured article word count rules and cannot realistically be brought into compliance with the expectations of said rules.
    • A request is made to remove the article's status so that a nominator can update the page and re-nominate it for status at a later date.
    • Three Inquisitorius members have voted to remove the article's status.

Review commands[]

  • If a Featured article is kept:
    • Run the command:
      @JocastaBot mark review for NominationName as passed
  • If a Featured article is sent to probation:
    • Run the command:
      @JocastaBot mark review for NominationName as on probation
  • If a Featured article is removed:

Manual archiving instructions[]

In the event JocastaBot is offline for an extended period of time, nominations and reviews can be archived manually as follows:
