The Vorashian Sea was a sea located on the world Hosnian Prime that was connected to a river.[2] In 228 BBY,[3] the Nihil Minister of Information Ghirra Starros looked down on the sea from her cruiser, the Pearl of Faretta, while it was in low orbit over Hosnian Prime. As she studied the ground below her, Starros noticed the river's end fading into the vivid blue and violet shades of the Vorashian Sea's water.[2] By 34 ABY, the sea had been destroyed[1] along with the rest of Hosnian Prime by the First Order's Starkiller Base battle station.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

The Vorashian Sea appeared in the 2024 novel Temptation of the Force, written by Tessa Gratton and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[2] Phase III.[5]

  1. 1.0 1.1 Star Wars: Timelines dates the destruction of Hosnian Prime to 34 ABY. As a location on Hosnian Prime, the Vorashian Sea's destruction must have occurred by that year.
  2. 2.0 2.1 2.2 2.3 2.4 The High Republic: Temptation of the Force
  3. Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic: Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic: Temptation of the Force takes place one year and six weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon and its events span a few months, its events must be set in 228 BBY.
