Inuse[]

While your edit is appreciated, the page you just edited currently has a template called {{Inuse}} at the top. This template means that someone is currently working on improving the article, and to avoid edit conflicts, no one other than the placer of the template should edit the page while the message is visible. Thank you for your cooperation. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 18:27, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, thank you sir. So, if I did the same on an article only I could edit it? Don't worry, I won't do that unless I knew how to use it. Skywalker2255 (talk) 18:29, October 17, 2014 (UTC)
You could, but it's only recommended if there is great need and only if you actually plan to make significant and necessary changes and additions to the article. It can't be used a permanent measure and you should aim to complete your work as soon as reasonably possible, which is reasonably flexible depending on the size of the article. ProfessorTofty (talk) 19:19, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

I am working on Ventress Canon article. I plan on adding all the info that is prior to Dooku's betrayal. Adding images and things like that. I hope to have it done as soon as possible. Skywalker2255 (talk) 19:23, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Two things:
  • The "Inuse" should go below "Eras".
  • When adding references, the format is <ref name="name">Reference</ref> and <ref name="name" /> for future instances of the same reference. ProfessorTofty (talk) 19:31, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Okay thanks for the help. Skywalker2255 (talk) 19:33, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Clone Wars film sourcing[]

For the Clone Wars film, use this: [[Star Wars: The Clone Wars (film)|''Star Wars: The Clone Wars'' film]]

Okay, go ahead and then I'll fix up the sourcing. Once I do that, take a look at the edit history and you can see what I did to fix it. ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:26, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Okay, thanks mam, the tag is off now. Skywalker2255 (talk) 21:27, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Done. The problem is that you were using blank references. You can't just put "<ref name="CloneWarsFilm">" and have nothing in there. For the first reference, it has to be "<ref name="CloneWarsFilm">[[Star Wars: The Clone Wars (film)|''Star Wars: The Clone Wars'' film]]</ref>". ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:35, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, sorry. I don't know what I was thinking. Thanks for fixing it and I will remember this one simple task in the future. But the rest of the article looks good though right? Skywalker2255 (talk) 21:37, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Looking good to me. I'm not noticing any obvious spelling errors or problems with grammar and it looks like it has good information, so nice work so far. ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:41, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, I am gonna add a few pictures to the article. It is looking good to me too. Skywalker2255 (talk) 21:43, October 17, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Slaves of the Republic[]

Well, it's not only "Slaves of the Republic" that really needs information added on there, it's a lot of other Clone Wars stories too. Really, I've basically just been completely overhauling the article because there were so many problems. I think I'm nearly there, though, so the plan is to finish things out in terms of fixing up the more major problems and then clear out the Inuse tag either today or tomorrow. Then people can start adding stuff like that, if they like, though I'll still be adding stuff myself as well, and still monitoring the article closely to prevent anything like what happened before from happening again. ProfessorTofty (talk) 09:48, October 19, 2014 (UTC)

Alright then, that is cool. Skywalker2255 (talk) 22:22, October 19, 2014 (UTC)
Hi! I wanted to let you know that I have finished cleaning up the most serious issues with the Skywalker article. As such, I have changed the tag on the article from "Inuse" to "WIP", a work in progress that asks only that you avoid making minor edits to the article as it continues to be expanded and improved. Thus, if you want to go ahead and start making more additions or other major changes to the article, go ahead. ProfessorTofty (talk) 03:09, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

Alright cool, I will get on that soon. Thanks. Skywalker2255 (talk) 07:03, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

Character height[]

Hey Skywalker, just thought I'd move this convo here to avoid cluttering Rey's page.

I wish sourcing heights was that easy, but it simply isn't. Take The Lord of the Rings, for example. Elijah Wood (Frodo) isn't actually knee-height. Or Robert Downy Jr. (Iron Man) has to wear heels while filming (it's hilarious, look it up). While I doubt that's the case here, we'll just have to wait and see. Cwedin(talk) 04:57, October 22, 2015 (UTC)

Hobbits are meant to be very short, that is an odd example but I will go with it. Something like a normal sized actor playing a normal sized character shouldn't be too far of a stretch to say they are within a 1-2 inches from the actor's real hieght. regardless, Robert Downey Jr. is taller in the Iron Man suit because RDJ is about 5 foot 11 but when he is in the suit is stands close to Chris Hemsworth who playes Thor who is around 6 foot 4. Canon article creation/expansion[]

Canon articles are not to be made by copy and pasting content from Legends articles, but simply removing Legends details, links, and sources. They must be written from scratch. While some information may be shared between Canon and Legends, copying from Legends is not always accurate, is poor editing practice (plagiarism is never allowed), and is not to be done.
