Hey, not to stir smthn up, but how did you get a mod with three edits

How the Heck is A Plot Description A Fan Fiction?[]

I gave a general description of how a Ventress Trilogy could be good and I didn't even get to finish my description of the second and third stories because you locked the thread. You called it a Fan Fiction without proving how it's a fan fiction.

I looked up the definition of a fan fiction and got this, "fiction written by a fan of, and featuring characters from, a particular TV series, movie, etc."

Then I looked up what a work of fiction is "literature in the form of prose, especially short stories and novels, that describes imaginary events and people". Guess what, I didn't list any literature. I didn't list anything like that. No short story, no novel. No just a plot description, which is not a fan fiction. If you think it is, prove it. Use evidence to back your claim.

Now let's look at a definition of literature, "written works, especially those considered of superior or lasting artistic merit." Ok, let's look at the definition of works " The definition of a literary work is a written piece of art. An example of a literary work is the book To Kill A Mockingbird. noun." So me listing this stuff is not listing a fan fiction.

Another definition is, "books and writings published on a particular subject." Let's see the story isn't published. They can also be unpublished, but you still don't have enough evidence to prove anything. You saying it's a fan fiction doesn't make it a fan fiction. If you want to see a real fan fiction I'll show you one so that you can tell the difference.

I said I wouldn't post a fan fiction if I made one because you made it sound like I couldn't list any fan fiction. Then you contradicted yourself and said that I could. But this wasn't about fan fiction. It was about stating why a Ventress series is a good idea. People can't state why it's a good idea if they can't discuss why the plot for a Ventress story is interesting and what narrative potential the story has.

Another reason it is not a fan fiction is that it is simply an outline of a potential story and description of one. But it is not a story itself, no it simply exists for mere discussion. I even had points throughout the description where I was directly communicating with other users, which would not happen in a work of fan fiction. If you guys want to ban plot descriptions for potential stories then just say it. But don't label it as something that it isn't. Like I said, I may make a fan fiction for it but that is not a published work nor is it be making any story declarations like what is made in works of fiction.

It was simply a description and visualization of what a Ventress trilogy might be like and what each film might be like. If you're going to complain about something or rebuke a certain form of behavior then you need to at least clearly define what you will and will not tolerate. If I can't even make film descriptions, then you might as well say that we aren't allowed to describe what those stories would be like. Because that's all I was doing, outside of giving it a fake title. if we can't give them fake titles, then you need to say that as well.

A fan fiction would have things like quotes and dialogue between the characters. It might have fan art as well. It depends, but you seem to define any fan ideas about characters as a fan fiction. It's a script either, so you can't make that claim. As it's not fleshed out enough to be a script. So let's see. It's not a script, not a novel, not a comic, not a short story, so according to you even ideas about a potential story count as fan fiction and cannot be allowed. It that's what you believe then I'd like to see the Wiki's policy and how they correlate with that.

Apology[]

I think you might want to apologize to Abyss on the page where you two argued about the untextured clones (I’m sending a similar message to him). I get that it’s okay to have a discussion about it, but insulting each other’s eyesight was a little to far. I also think you both meant different things. I think he meant that both clones didn’t have any sort of color or markings on them, while you meant they were completely one color?

-- First off; sign your comments when you use the talk page, Grapploct.

Secondly; you're not in the position to suggest or demand anything. No one's eyesight was insulted in that thread, if anything that was more banter or quips than actual insults. Furthermore, Spectres Abyss told Jade to "use his eyes" first, before I had any reason to respond to that with a similar quip of my own.

On the subject of the "untextured" clones; Abyss' claim was that those two clones in the scene had no textures whatsoever, like the AT-TE he shared. If one looks at the scene themselves, they can see that those clones in fact do have textures, even if they are not seen quite that well in some shots. But they definitely are not "untextured" in the way in which he claimed.

But anyhow, this is not really the place for you to complain about mod conduct. Use the Ask a Mod a Question thread instead from now on. But furthermore, something like this isn't really any of your business anyway. It's not your job to mend issues between users, or to suggest people to "apologize" to each other and whatnot. Leave the moderating to us moderators, thank you. Joupena (talk) 13:06, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

YOU KRIFFING READ ME WRONG[]

I said the REPLY! NOT THE LINK! JEEZ LOUIS, I said the REPLY with the link on it. I didn't say "It was on the link.". I MEANT BELOW THE LINK!!! THE ONE FOR @TheWeirdDragon! NOT THE LINK!!! This is exactly what happened on the MCU Wiki! Someone read me wrong, and MY POST GETS LOCKED! I ASKED YOU TO LET ME HAVE THAT ONE! BUT NO, APPARANTELY THE OPINIONS OF THE ADMINS COME BEFORE THE ONES OF THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY EDIT THE PAGES!!! You actually drove me insane, and now, my night is ruined.

Properly categorizing posts[]

Excuse me thanks for moving my post to the correct category it's very confusing on where which post goes where. I'm a thread moderator myself over on the Karate Kid wiki we always tell people which post goes where. I was wondering if you could help me out here so that next time I post in the correct category here. I was wondering if the guidelines could be updated to include this reminder? As for where topics go can you send me a link of where which goes where?

-- Hey. Are you talking about the Super Mario Super Show post? It wasn't placed incorrectly, I simply thought it could fit better in the memes/fun category. There's not a "set in stone" precedent over where posts should be placed in, though in clear cut cases like polls and etc. their categories should hopefully be obvious. In a more vague situation like this, placing the post in general is the norm, though sometimes we mods will simply move them to another category if we think they might fit there better. But it's not a rule that constitutes to any guideline violation, even if you don't post things in the "correct category" so no worries about that.

The categories and their descriptions (however vague they might be) can be found here: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Wookieepedia:Discussions --Joupena (talk) 15:49, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
