The title of this article is conjectural.

Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

A primitive refugee camp existed on the planet Virgillia's forested moon in the Virgillia system. Shortly before the Battle of Endor of 4 ABY, it was discovered by the Galactic Empire and destroyed by stormtroopers. The troopers' murder of all the residents of the camp prompted one of the Imperial officers present, Rannd Delckis, to defect to the Virgillian Free Alignment, a group that was fighting against the Empire-aligned Aristocracy.

Description[]

A small, primitive camp was located on the forested moon of the planet Virgillia, in the Virgillia system. It was built by refugees, many of whom were women, children, or wounded. The conditions in the camp were poor.[1]

History[]

Virgillia-TEA

The refugee camp was located in the Virgillia system.

Between 25 BBY[3] and 4 ABY,[4] the Virgillia system was embroiled in a brutal civil war between the Aristocracy, which eventually came to be aligned with the Galactic Empire, and the Virgillian Free Alignment.[1] Shortly before the Battle of Endor[1] of 4 ABY,[2] the refugee camp was discovered by an Imperial informant. Captain Jarroth and the crew of the Imperial Victory-class Star Destroyer Stormwind were sent to investigate the site. Convinced it was sheltering Virgillian Free Alignment fighters, Jarroth ordered stormtroopers to torture the refugees for information by slowly searing their flesh off their bones with a blaster set to low power, a technique known as the Burning.[1]

The torture did not produce any intelligence, although it did kill several of its subjects. In response to the deaths, the refugees attempted to fight back, only for them all to be killed by the stormtroopers. The attack was the first mission of Imperial Navy Ensign Rannd Delckis, who was a member of the Stormwind's landing party. He found the incident so horrifying that shortly thereafter he defected to the Free Alignment.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The refugee camp was mentioned in The Truce at Bakura Sourcebook, a roleplaying guide published in 1996 by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. It was written by Kathy Tyers and Eric S. Trautmann.[1]

Therefore, the war must have begun in 25 BBY.
  4. The Truce at Bakura Sourcebook states that the Virgillian Civil War ended shortly before the Battle of Endor, which The Essential Atlas dates to 4 ABY.
