The title of this article is conjectural.

Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

"No, this isn't a drill, you idiot! One of the workers stole an ore shuttle and is heading toward orbit!…Intercept her!"
―A guard on Ronika, communicating with the orbital security station[1]

An orbital security station circled Ronika, a planet of the Deep Core's Koros system. In 5000 BBY, the orbital station maintained security in space above Ronika, which was at that time used by the monarchy of the planet Koros Major as a prison world. That year, the Human Jori Daragon, who was imprisoned on Ronika, stole a drone ore shuttle on the planet's surface and attempted to escape the harsh world and return to her homeworld of Koros Major. A guard on Ronika's surface notified the security station of the escape attempt and ordered it to intercept Daragon. The security station launched two starfighters to pursue Daragon; however, she was able to escape.

Description[]

An orbital security station circled Ronika,[1] the eighth planet of the Koros system that was located within the Deep Core's[2] Koros sector.[3] The space station was a gray-colored three-part structure, with the two outer parts being connected to the central part. All three of the station's components boasted numerous antennae. The security station had a complement of at least two starfighters that were used to pursue prisoners attempting to escape Ronika.[1]

History[]

"Does she really think she can get away?"
"These prisoners get dumber every day."
―The pilots of the space station's starfighters[1]

In the year 5000 BBY,[5] the orbital station maintained security in space above Ronika, which was at that time used by the Koros Major monarchy as a forced-labor prison world. That year, the Human Jori Daragon, who was imprisoned on Ronika, stole a drone ore shuttle on the planet's surface and attempted to escape the harsh world and return to Koros Major, her homeworld. However, a guard on Ronika's surface notified the security station of the escape attempt and ordered it to intercept Daragon. The security station launched two starfighters, piloted by two individuals who felt certain that no prisoner could escape Ronika, to pursue Daragon; however, due to the fighters' laser cannons being ineffective against the ore shuttle's heavy shielding, Daragon was able to escape to Koros Major.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

To date, the orbital security station has only appeared in the second issue of The Fall of the Sith Empire story arc of the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi series of comic books.[1] The issue was published on July 23, 1997,[6] written by Kevin J. Anderson, and penciled by Dario Carrasco, Jr.[1] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Koros system, and therefore the station, in grid square L-10.[4]
