A squadron of four Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery Turbolaser walkers was active within the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The squadron was under the command of Grand Master Yoda, and participated alongside many other artillery squadrons during the First Battle of Geonosis[1] in 22 BBY.[2]
The squadron proved to be particularly effective when Master Yoda ordered his forces to concentrate their firepower on the nearest fleeing Separatist core ship. The squadron managed to damage the core ship's propulsion and anti-gravitational systems, causing the ship to fall to the surface. After this action, the squadron had to be replaced by artillery with charged weapons.[1] Clone troopers and clone trooper officers served within the walkers during the battle.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
The squadron appeared, albeit unnamed, in the Star Wars saga film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones which was released in 2002.[3]
