As a member of a patrol squadron, they engaged in combat with the Jedi Master Mace Windu and Jedi Knight Rissa Mano in sector two zero nine. Windu bisected the battle droid, destroying them.

Biography[]

In 22 BBY,^[1] the B1-series battle droid^[4] was stationed on the planet Hissrich as part of a droid army for the Confederacy of Independent Systems. As they traveled through sector two zero nine as a member of a patrol squadron, they were observed by a Jedi team led by Jedi Master Mace Windu. The battle droid complained about patrol duty to a companion, who felt they had jinxed the squadron. The droid then expressed their desire for action as Windu and the Jedi Knight Rissa Mano ambushed the squadron. Surprised, the droid fired at the encroaching Jedi with their blaster rifle as their companion scolded them for jinxing the squadron. The Jedi Knight deflected a blaster bolt with her lightsaber into their companion, and Windu bisected the battle droid,^[3] destroying them both.^[1]

Characteristics[]

Like all B1-series battle droids, the droid was part of the B-series battle droid line,^[2] stood at 1.93 meters, and weighed sixty-five kilograms.^[5] They had black sensors and tan plating,^[3] though it was described as bone white.^[5] They found patrol duty boring and wished to see battle to have fulfillment in life. However, when Mano destroyed their companion, they regretted being a part of the action and decried it as being too much.^[3]

The droid carried a comlink booster pack that matched their plating and a black E-5 blaster rifle, which they used in battle against Mano and Windu.^[3]

Behind the scenes[]

The droid appeared in the first issue of the 2017 comic series Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic – Mace Windu. The story was written by Matt Owens, illustrated by Denys Cowan, and published by Marvel Comics^[3] on August 30, 2017.^[6] In the comic, the droid was depicted on the left side of two panels. When the droid and its companion turn to face the advancing Jedi, the droid remains on the left side of the new panel, though the perspective has shifted.^[3]
