- The latest StarWars.com blog post about AnimeExpo's Visions showing states that the anthologies are not beholden to the Star Wars timeline. It's possible that some might be; the language of the post doesn't say all of them will be non-canon, but that the stories won't have to fit within the timeline. - I think we should make a special canonicity template for stuff from Visions similar to the one for Star Wars Tales to label this stuff as ambiguously canon. SilverSunbird (talk) 00:37, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

- At this point, per the message below, it seems as if some of Visions will be completely canon, while some will not be. We'll just have to wait and see exactly how Lucasfilm treats it. For reference, here's what the official blog post says: Star Wars: Visions storytelling didn’t have to fit in the timeline. In developing the series, Lucasfilm made the decision to let creators tell the stories they wanted to tell — whether they featured established or original characters — without a need to tie into the larger chronology. “We really wanted to give these creators a wide creative berth to explore all the imaginative potential of the Star Wars galaxy through the unique lens of anime,” James Waugh said. “We realized we wanted these to be as authentic as possible to the studios and creators who are making them, made through their unique process, in a medium they’re such experts at. So the idea was, this is their vision riffing off all the elements of the Star Wars galaxy that inspired them — hopefully to make a really incredible anthology series, unlike anything we’ve seen before in the Star Wars galaxy.” To me, at least, this makes it sound like the canonicity of each short depends on whether the creators of that short want it to be canon; rather than it being considered non-canon by default. So, will we be updating canon pages with information from Star Wars: Visions? I think we should treat it like gameplay: Have a small notification containing the information about it being dubiously canon, and have a category for "articles with information from Star Wars: Visions". - Drewzirocks2 02:22, September 5, 2021 (Eastern)
Shouldn't we make a new tag other then Canon or Legends for stuff like this? If we are unsure of the fact we shouldn't have the canon sticker on top of the page, maybe something like alternative universe or such. - Dogsteeves (talk) 21:43, 27 September 2021 (UTC)

CNET article seems to indicate Visions isn't canon[]
From Lucasfilm VP of franchise content James Waugh at this interview: Star Wars: Visions producers 'would love' to do another season of anime-inspired spinoff - CNET
Could elements from Visions be brought into canon? Some episodes feel like they should slot into the existing continuity pretty smoothly.
Waugh: That's right -- every piece of Star Wars influences future Star Wars storytellers in some form or the other. So are there plans to integrate Visions into the timeline saga storytelling? Not currently, but I have no doubt that we will see things that were in Visions become part of the fabric of Star Wars over the next decades.
- Interestingly enough, I don't see this as really being any new information about the canocity of what's already been released. Humans are weird like that. But that's besides the point. I still like my idea above, but if and when an individual episode is acknowledged in canon, I think we should treat the episode itself as canon, sort of like with S-canon, pre-Disney. - Drewzirocks2 23:59, September 26, 2021 (Eastern)
