Personal feelings aside, what's the latest canon source to identify the ship? If it is the Ultimate Star Wars reference book, shouldn't the canon name now be "Clone I"? --Geekius Maximus (talk) 04:27, May 15, 2015 (UTC)

  • I'm pretty sure the naming rules are latest name "in-universe" not latest name "published", so we go by the most common name which it seems we have both the Databank and (I assume) 100 Scenes going by Slave I. 120.144.170.253 05:24, May 15, 2015 (UTC)
    • And tons, and tons, of places in Ultimate Star Wars itself... In fact I think its called that on at least 8 pages... The Clone 1 thing is an error, and its not consistant with the rest of the book.ralok (talk) 06:05, May 15, 2015 (UTC)

Disney retiring the name "Slave I"[]

In the "Behind the scenes" section, you can add that Disney has decided to retire or obfuscate the name "Slave I" to be more politically correct. Best source: [1]. Other sources: [2], [3], & [4]. Also compare this with this (archive link) on the Star Wars Databank. Notice the change in URLs and the erasure of the ship's name from the description. • That information is all either from unofficial sources or completely unnotable. It doesn't need to be added to the BTS. VergenceScatter (talk) 20:27, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

good idea! why dont we also add to the havoc maurader page that it was renamed to "the bad batch attack shuttle" in a lego set! while were at it, we should move the tie dagger page to "sith tie fighter" since what lego calls ships is a much better source than years of oficial star wars content. why bother reading that the databank STILL CALLS IT SLAVE I because a url is a much better source. now do you see how stupid you sound?Unsigned comment by 178.171.95.78 (talk • contribs).

  • Alright, there's no need to be so heated about this. For the record, Slave I is still called the Slave I by the many official, canonical sources listed in this article's extensive Appearances and Sources lists, and so the title of the article will remain where it is per Wookieepedia's naming policy. For crying out loud... Just FYI, that article is mistaken. Firespray is the class of ship of Slave I, and it just named that in an internal memo. Nowhere is it truly official that Disney is renaming Slave I. And if they did, Firespray is the dumbest choice they could make. Could people please stop spreading this fake rumor solely based upon a single clickbait title? Timjer (talk) 19:55, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
