First Appearance[]

I'm pretty sure the first canon appearance of a Loth-cat was in the Clone Wars season 5 episode "To Catch a Jedi", about 8 minutes & 20 seconds in, right after Ahsoka saved the Twi'lek child in the elevator and right before she was attacked by Asajj Ventress. ~ Mando Jetii (talk) 17:23, October 5, 2016 (UTC)

  • That was just a general tooka. Loth-cats are a type of tooka native to Lothal. - Cwedin(talk) 17:26, October 5, 2016 (UTC)

Loth-cat in The Mandalorian[]

I see that the recent episode has already been added to this page, but given that we know Loth-cats are a specific subspecies native only to Lothal and that elsewhere in the galaxy they're known as Tookas, what reason is there for assuming that this is a Loth-cat and not a Tooka? • Nothing says they're only found on Lothal. Primarily found on Lothal? Definitely. But we've seen them on Batuu, so no reason they can't be found elsewhere, if infrequently. For me, bottom line is the cat looks like the loth-cats we've seen and not like other Tooka cats. Toqgers (talk) 00:07, November 30, 2019 (UTC)
    • That has to be someone's pet for sure, there's no way a stray Loth-cat somehow made its way to Sorgan. UberSoldat93 14:40, November 30, 2019 (UTC)
      • Revisting The Mandalorian loth-cat or tooka question, the tooka databank page (StarWars-DatabankII Tooka in the Databank (backup link)) was updated to reflect the appearance in the show, but the Loth-cat (StarWars-DatabankII Loth-cat in the Databank (backup link)) page was not. Is there another source that confirms the one in The Mandalorian is definitely a Loth-cat rather than another variety of Tooka with similar coloring? Because the databank update is making me think User:Shaggy9342 might have been onto something. :) Toqgers (talk) 02:14, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
        • Wait never mind I'm stupid I completely forgot there are a bunch of SWCT Loth-cat cards for this little guy. Aaaaaaanyways! Toqgers (talk) 02:34, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
          • If it was still unclear, the Art of Mando S1 book confirms it was a Loth-cat --Lewisr (talk) 01:34, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
            • I’m so confused, the databank said that Loth-Cats are a member of the Tooka family while the Visual Dictionary says that the Loth-Cat is a relative. This so far does not have to disagree, since the “Tooka family” can simply be the name attributed with the Loth-Cat and Tooka’s shared family. However, by the photos and art of Mandalorian, a picture is both of a Tooka and Loth-Cat. Is one a subspecies of the other or are they both related species? Crowbuster (talk) 05:12, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
              • As far as I'm aware Loth-cats are just a type of tooka Lewisr (talk) 01:41, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
                • I have looked at all the sources, except for Rebels Head to Head (If anyone has access to it could they give a quote or something). Alien Archive seems to treat both Tooka and Loth-Cat equally, Visual Dictionary calls them relatives, and Star Wars.com calls the Loth-Cat part of the “Tooka family”. Since “family” could be referring to a taxonomic family and not species, the only thing giving any credit to the Loth-Cats are tookas is that a seemingly Loth-Cat image from Mandalorian is put as the Tookas on the website but called a loth-cat in art. This could however just be a photo error, as a majority of the sources seem to call them relatives not the same species.Crowbuster (talk) 05:12, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

3.3 Factual correction[]

Loth Cat Appears In Clone Wars

A Loth Cat appears in Season 7 episode 5 of Clone Wars (Gone With A Trace) 19:38 in, just as the camera zooms in to Ahsoka and Trace eating in the outside area of a cantina.

Hope this gets added :D Unsigned comment by 80.1.220.49 (talk • contribs).
