Tales from Wild Space: "Family Affair, Part 2" is a comic story focusing on Lando Calrissian that was published as the secondary story of Star Wars Adventures (2017) 11 on June 6, 2018.

Plot summary[]

On the Star Herald in Wild Space, Emil Graf reminded CR-8R "Crater" where he was in the story he was telling Emil about Lando Calrissian.

After Clariah's son, Jiandy had stolen a brooch from crime lord Askroh, he managed to escape to escape Askroh's grasp by escaping on a speeder with Lando trying to stay on. Askroh chased after them throughout the streets of Cloud City. Other speeders working for Askroh followed but Jinaby managed to take one out by releasing a crate right in front of it. Askroh opened fire on them as they reached Figg's Avenue. Then another speeder got in their way and caused Jiandy to crashed the speeder on a landing pad.

Askroh came to met Lando and out a Blaster pistol on him after smart mouthed Askroh. Askroh was willing to let to let the two go if Jiandy returned his brooch. Jiandy tried to reason with him but Lando told him that it was an important lesson to just shut up. One of the gang members reported to Askroh that they did not have the brooch. The angered Askroh ordered for Lando and Jiandy to be thrown off the platform. Jiandy begged Lando to help him but Lando told him that this is what he asked for. But Lando stopped them right before he and Jiandy were going to be thrown to their deaths. He betrayed the kid and confessed to Askroh that the brooch was in a secret compartment hidden in Jiandy's belt. Lando taught Jiandy that his finally lesson is that to betray your partners when the deal goes wrong. Jiandy begged for forgiveness but Askroh had him taken away and he ran off. Lando thanked Askroh for his help in teaching the boy a lesson.

Back at a restaurant, Clariah met up with and thank him for helping her son because now he was acting better. Clariah told him that if kids like Jiandy don't change then we will see more kids like Askroh. She returned his cape to him and was happy that she took her chances with him.

Back on the Star Herald, Crater finished his story and Emil Graf showed "Boo" that there was also more to a story then the nice bits. He continued on saying that Lando and Jiandy's paths will cross again but Jiandy will find a new family in the form of the Rebel Alliance.

  2. As shown in "The Lost Stories, Part 3," the events of all the Star Wars Adventures: Tales from Wild Space comics are set a relatively short time apart. "Tales from Wild Space: The Best Pet" depicts CR-8R being aware of the events following those of Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, and "The Lost Stories, Part 1" features the First Order. The Star Wars Book places The Last Jedi thirty-four years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and the fall of the First Order thirty-five years after A New Hope, which, according to Star Wars: Galactic Atlas, corresponds to 34 ABY and 35 ABY, respectively. Therefore, the Star Wars Adventures: Tales from Wild Space comics must take place at some point between those years.
  3. Tales from Wild Space: "Family Affair, Part 2" takes place in between Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. Solo: A Star Wars Story The Official Guide places Solo: A Star Wars Story nine years after the founding of the Galactic Empire. Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates that event to 19 BBY, and also dates Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back to 3 ABY, meaning Solo: A Star Wars Story takes place in 10 BBY and Tales from Wild Space: "Family Affair, Part 2" takes place between these two years.
