Sweetpond clematis was a type of purple plant. During the High Republic Era, the library of the San Tekka manor on the planet Coruscant kept some of the clematis between two curved ladders.[1] In 228 BBY,[2] Jedi Master Avar Kriss visited the library, taking note of the vegetation there, including the sweetpond clematis.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Sweetpond clematiss appeared in the 2024 novel Temptation of the Force, written by Tessa Gratton and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[3] In the real world, clematis is a type of flowering vine.[4]

As The High Republic: Temptation of the Force takes place one year and six weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon and its events span a few months, its events must be set in 228 BBY.
