- "The fate of the Star Wars universe is in your hands!"
- ―Star Tours toy line package
The Star Wars: Star Tours toy line was released exclusively to Disney Theme Parks, released from 2002[3] to the present day. It included characters and vehicles that were part of the Star Tours attraction, Disney/Star Wars character crossovers, and repackaged items from other Star Wars toy lines. The toys came in varied formats, including standard action figures, PVC figurines and miniature figures.[4]
History[]
The initial line of figures was released from 2002 to 2005[5] in four collections, with packaging reflecting the style of the regular Hasbro Star Wars toy lines being produced at the time: Collection I and II (August and September 2002[1]) — Power of the Jedi, Collection III (July 2003) — Star Wars Saga,[1] Collection IV — The Original Trilogy Collection (2005).[5] At one point a playset based on part of the attraction queue's Droidnostics Center was considered but never made.[4]
A new series of merchandise, including toys, was released to coincide with the new version of the attraction, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, which opened in May (Disney's Hollywood Studios) and June (Disneyland) of 2011.[6]
Continuity[]
Many of the droid characters from the original Star Tours ride were first given proper names in this toy line. Kaink and Teek, characters from the 1984 and 1985 Ewoks TV movies, were first represented in action figure form as part of a May 2010 set, based on their appearances in the on-ride safety video.[7]
