Sljee was an Expansion Region planet located in the Ehosiq sector. Species living on it, which included the sentient Sljee, primarily relied on the sense of smell. Between 12 ABY and 13 ABY, Sljee was part of the New Republic.
Description[]
Sljee was a terrestrial planet[3] located in the Sljee system. It was a part of the Expansion Region's Ehosiq sector, being located both in the Outer Expansion Zone sub-region and the Northern Dependencies portion of that region.[1] The planet was situated on a hyperlane between the Kiros and Nessem systems.[5]
History[]
A Sljee waiter who worked on[6] the Outer Rim Territories[7] planet Bonadan[6] by 1 BBY[8] hailed from Sljee.[9] Sljee fell within the borders of the New Republic between 12 ABY and 13 ABY.[5]

Sljee was the homeworld of the species of the same name.
Sljee was the homeworld of the sentient species of the same name,[3] members of which communicated in the Sljee language.[4] Species on Sljee primarily relied on the sense of smell, with scent being of utmost importance in both hunting prey and evading predators. The olfactory apparatus of the Sljee was fine-tuned to identify a very specific range of scents, including those of other Sljee and food sources from their homeworld. Consequently, those Sljee who traveled offworld were frequently bewildered and overwhelmed by the unfamiliar smells that could be encountered in the wider galaxy. The Sljee were a communal species, and as such, when away from Sljee, they commonly lived in groups.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Sljee was introduced in the 1984 reference book A Guide to the Star Wars Universe by Raymond L. Velasco.[10] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Sljee system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square M-8.[2]

Star Wars: The Essential Atlas Online Companion on StarWars.com (article) (backup link) places the Sljee system, and therefore the planet itself, in grid square M-8 as part of the Expansion Region's Ehosiq sector. The Essential Atlas designates the Expansion Region section of that grid square as part of the Northern Dependencies. In addition, Essential Atlas Extra: Expansion Region on StarWars.com (backup link) places the Ehosiq sector in the portion of the Expansion Region between the Mondress and Lostar sectors. Galaxy Guide 10: Bounty Hunters establishes both Mondress and Lostar sectors to be a part of the Outer Expansion Zone, which the Star Wars: Force and Destiny Core Rulebook further defines as a sub-region located in the northern section of the Expansion Region. Therefore, Sljee must also be a part of the Outer Expansion Zone.
