The Secret Research Facillity was a Confederacy of Independent Systems facility located on an unmapped moon. The research facility housed Project Stardust, the blueprints to the First Death Star.[2]
Between 22 and 20 BBY[1] during the Clone Wars, Jedi General Aayla Secura went on a mission to the facility to locacte a rumored secret in it. But she was stopped by Dark Acolyte and assassin Asajj Ventress. During their fighting, a beam that ran throughout the facility overheated, causing the facility to begin to crumble. Secura held back the debris and ordered many Geonosians stationed on the facility to escape through the tunnels of the facility.[2]

As Asajj Ventress is working for the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the story, it must occur prior to the Battle of Sullust, in which she is forced out of Separatist service. Since Galactic Atlas dates the battle to 20 BBY, the story must occur during or between those years.
