- "Why do we have bright red skulls painted over our faces?"
"Because you're members of the Scarlet Skull Cult, the most feared assassin squad in the sector, made up entirely of children and teenagers." - ―Reath Silas and Alys Ongwa
The Scarlet Skull Cult,[1] also known as the Scarlet Skulls,[2] was a feared assassin squad active in the Corellian sector until its members died out[1] by 382 BBY.[3] The cult's members were all children or teenagers, and they wore red skulls painted on their faces. They also took vows of silence by removing their own tongues.[1] In 230 BBY,[4] Alys Ongwa, the head of Supreme Coronet City Diplomat Protection on Corellia, recruited Jedi Padawans Reath Silas and Ram Jomaram to assist her in finding out what had happened to two missing members of her bodyguard team, Prybolt Garavult and Ovarto Bitolo-Bash. In order to conceal their identities, Ongwa had Svi'no Atchapat and Ansh, two members of her team, disguise the Padawans as members of the Scarlet Skull Cult. Explaining the disguise to Silas, Ongwa stated that she hoped to trick others into thinking that the cult had returned and joined forces with her.[1]
