Scalemonks were tree-dwelling creatures that could be found on the planet Batuu. While on Batuu[1] in 382 BBY,[2] Jedi Padawan Rooper Nitani noticed some shrieking scalemonks swinging in some nearby trees as she made her way toward the world's Black Spire Outpost settlement.[1]

Scalemonks appeared in the 2023 junior novel The High Republic: Quest for Planet X, written by Tessa Gratton as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase II.[3]
