"Less talk. More showing."
―A Sabetue, to the human Han[1]

The Sabetue were a species, genderless members of which were distinguished by a white skin. One Sabetue was a member of a gang of criminals in Coronet City of the planet Corellia in 13 BBY. That year, the Sabetue and their fellow gang members unsuccessfully attempted to purchase several vials of the coaxium hyperfuel from the human thief Han before attacking and then pursuing him through the city.

Biology and appearance[]

The Sabetue were a sentient species that had hands and a pair of feet, all of which featured dangerous claws. Members of the species could be taller than humans. Genderless Sabetue, who were rarely seen, could be distinguished by their pure white skin.[1]

History[]

"We agreed to seven vials of refined coaxium."
―A Sabetue, to Han[1]

In 13 BBY,[2] a tall, gaunt, and skeletal genderless Sabetue was a criminal in Coronet City[1] of the Core Worlds planet Corellia.[3] They were part of a gang that also included[1] the non-human[4] Kilmo[1] and members of other species.[4] That year, the Sabetue, who spoke Galactic Basic Standard, was present while their gang was attempting to conduct an illicit purchase of several vials of refined coaxium hyperfuel from the human thief Han, who was representing the Grindalid crime lord Proxima. Han, who had never seen a white-skinned Sabetue before, viewed the one present at the site of the deal as an ugly individual.[1]

The human Han used an M-68 landspeeder (both pictured) to hide and then escape from a Sabetue and their fellow gang members.

During the transaction, the human attempted to pocket some of Proxima's coaxium for himself, which ultimately led the gang to attack him and subsequently pursue him through the city. While Han was hiding underneath Kilmo's parked M-68 landspeeder, he observed the Sabetue's feet being among those of the criminals who approached the thief's hiding place—being close enough for Han to notice the alien having an injured claw. Ultimately, the human stole the landspeeder and used it to escape the gang.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Sabetue were introduced in Mur Lafferty's[1] September 4, 2018[5] Expanded Edition novelization of[1] the Star Wars Anthology Series film Solo: A Star Wars Story[6] that released on May 25 of the same year.[7]
