"Hello there? What is this? Oh my, she's dead!"
―S-0D3-GE3, discovering Captain Sullio's body moments after her murder — (audio) Listen (file info)[1]

S-0D3-GE3 was the designation of a GE3-series protocol droid that was active during the time known as the Dark Wars. The droid was owned by a Bith male named Bahima—the bartender of the cantina in the city of Iziz on the planet Onderon—and was used as a waiter for the cantina. S-0D3-GE3 discovered the corpse of the murdered Captain Sullio shortly after the incident and was destroyed by Sullio's murderer moments after his discovery. Meetra Surik, an exile of the Jedi Order, discovered S-0D3-GE3's head while investigating the murder of Sullio in hopes of clearing Doctor Dhagon Ghent of the crime. With the help of a Twi'lek patron of the cantina named Kiph, Surik was able to extract a recording of the droid's last moments from its memory banks, which she used to prove Ghent's innocence.

Biography[]

"That's the third serving droid I've had this month. I hired a human to do the job. She's not very good, but at least she won't be stolen or destroyed as easily."
―Bahima[1]

S-0D3-GE3 was a protocol droid working as a waiter at the cantina in the city of Iziz on the planet Onderon[1] during the Dark Wars, a series of conflicts between the Galactic Republic and the remnants of Revan's Sith Empire.[2] He was owned by the Bith male Bahima, who was the bartender of the cantina at the time. He was the third serving droid Bahima had owned, as the previous ones had all been destroyed by local thugs.[1] While taking out the cantina's refuse,[3] S-0D3-GE3 discovered the body of Captain Sullio—an officer of the Onderonian military—shortly after she was murdered. S-0D3 was then shot and destroyed by her killer shortly after his discovery.[1]

Dhagon Ghent, a local doctor, was arrested for the crime that S-0D3 witnessed. Meanwhile, S-0D3's ruined body was left at the crime scene and picked over by scavengers, who sold some of the parts to 1B-8D-GE3. 1B-8D, a droid owned by local merchant Tolas, traded used droids and droid parts, and readily purchased S-0D3's components as he lacked the ability to comprehend or care whether he bought stolen goods. As a result of S-0D3's destruction, Bahima gave up on droid waiters and replaced S-0D3 with a much less competent human waitress.[1]

Some time later, Meetra Surik,[4] an exile of the Jedi Order visiting Onderon in search for Jedi Master Kavar, began investigating the murder. Thanks to tips from Nikko, a local pazaak shark and friend of Ghent, and Panar, a swoop racer and Beast Rider, she recovered S-0D3's head from 1B-8D during her investigation. She was able to extract the last moments of the droid's life from its memory core with the help of a Twi'lek slicer and cantina patron named Kiph and used the recording to clear Dhagon Ghent of the crime.[1]

Personality and traits[]

"Waitress is awful, but she's more fun than his droids ever were."
―Panar — (audio) Listen (file info)[1]

S-0D3-GE3 was a member of the GE3-series protocol droid line, one of the best-selling droid models manufactured by Czerka Corporation. The GE3-series programming was geared towards social interaction, and they were highly knowledgeable of the customs and history of multiple species in the galaxy, making S-0D3 well suited in his role as waiter for the Iziz cantina.[2] S-0D3's sensor color was blue-white, while his chassis was silver and blue, and his memory core was located in his head. The droid's voice indicated that masculine programming was installed in the unit. Despite his programming for social interaction, the cantina patron Panar did not consider S-0D3 a very fun individual.[1] S-0D3 took great care with his work.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

S-0D3-GE3 appears in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, a roleplaying video game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by LucasArts for the Xbox in 2004 and the PC in 2005. He appears in a brief cutscene during the Onderon portion of the game while the player, cast as the Jedi Exile, is attempting to prove Dhagon Ghent innocent of a military officer's murder. The droid's name is only listed as "S-0D3" within the game,[1] with the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide pointing out that all droids of his model are suffixed with -GE3.[2] S-0D3-GE3's singular line in the game was provided by voice actor Tom Kane.[1]
