"Return of the Slavers" is a comic strip published in the fifth issue of the Star Wars Rebels Magazine series by Egmont UK Ltd. It was written by Martin Fisher, illustrated by Ingo Römling, and edited by Gunther Nickel. The comic was published on May 20, 2015.

Plot summary[]

In 4 BBY,[2] a new shipment of slaves from the Lothal sector is delivered to the planet Oon, which houses a trading operation run by a Zygerrian named MaDall, alongside a Muun overseer known as Abrish.[3] Among the captured prisoners is the Mandalorian Sabine Wren, whom MaDall decides to make her personal slave. Back on Lothal, the rest of the crew of the Ghost frantically search for Wren, not knowing that she had intentionally allowed herself to be captured in hopes of freeing the other slaves on Oon.

While sneaking around the operation, Wren quickly discovers the severity of the situation. Nevertheless, when she is captured and punished by MaDall in front of the other prisoners, the others begin acting out against their supervisors. The prisoners use the electric rods carried by MaDall's men to unlock their shock collars and begin an uprising. When MaDall realizes the prisoners, including Wren, are fighting back, she challenges Wren to solve the matter through close combat. Wren quickly defeats MaDall and brings her on the Ghost back to Lothal, where the Spectres are waiting.

Instead of ending her life, Kanan Jarrus insists that the Zygerrian is free to go. Defeated, MaDall claims she has nothing else to live for, at which point Wren encourages her to use her resourceful nature to fight against the Galactic Empire instead.
