The Red Yars system was located in the Inner Rim Territories where the Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing stopped while on its way to the world Chadawa in 5 ABY. The New Republic refitted Star Destroyer Deliverance tracked the fighter wing and attempted to intercept the unit in the Red Yar system. Only a pair of New Republic starfighters were able to fire shots before the 204th escaped into hyperspace.

Description[]

The Red Yars system was a star system[2] located in the Trailing Sectors portion of the Inner Rim Territories.[1]

History[]

Chadawa-Fedovoi-SWT

The 204th Imperial Fighter Wing was tracked to the Red Yars system while traveling between Fedovoi End and Chadawa.

In 5 ABY,[3] the Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing traveled to the Red Yars system while navigating between[2] the Inner Rim[4] worlds of Fedovoi End and Chadawa. During that transit, a communications signal burst from the 204th's bulk freighter Yadeez orchestrated by Yrica Quell, an Imperial pilot who was secretly trying to sabotage the fighter wing, allowed the New Republic refitted Star Destroyer Deliverance, commanded by General Hera Syndulla, to follow the fighter wing.[2]

Having attacked the 204th in the Ciaox Verith system nearly a day before, the Deliverance and its starfighter wing followed another comm burst and arrived out of hyperspace in the Red Yars system battle ready. Since the Imperial fighter wing had also prepared for another encounter, only the New Republic pilots Chass na Chadic and Boyvech Toons were able to fire shots before the 204th's starships escaped into hyperspace, although the pair had been out of range regardless. The Deliverance and its starfighter wing then continued to chase the 204th across a number of other regional systems with the help of more comm bursts from the Yadeez.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

The Red Yars system was mentioned in the 2021 novel Victory's Price, the third and final installment in the Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy which was written by Alexander Freed.[2]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 Victory's Price establishes that the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing visited the Red Yars system while traveling between Fedovoi End and Chadawa. The Star Wars Galaxy Map places both worlds in the Inner Rim Territories; therefore, it can be deduced that the Red Yars system was also located in that region. That area of space is also placed in the Trailing Sectors by Star Wars: The Galactic Explorer's Guide.

  3. The events of Victory's Price begin after the Cerberon system campaign, and the novel also features the Battle of Jakku at the end of its three main sections. Since Star Wars: Timelines dates both of those conflicts to 5 ABY, the main events of Victory's Price must therefore be set in that year.
