Qartuums were a goat-like species that inhabited the planet Nevarro.
Biology and appearance[]
A species of hoofed quadrupeds about the size of a goat,[1] Qartuums[2] had long patches of hair on several areas of their body, including their belly, spine, and throat. They also had large protruding eyes and a small horn on their forehead.[1]
History[]
In 9 ABY,[3] Din Djarin, Carasynthia Dune, Kuiil, Greef Karga, and three other bounty hunters passed a member of the species while travelling across Nevarro's lava fields.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- "Again, you ask yourself, 'What would Phill Tippett design for something like this?' He is so great at doing 'ugly-cute.'"
- ―Christian Alzmann
Qartuums appeared in "Chapter 7: The Reckoning," an episode of the first season of Jon Favreau's television series The Mandalorian. The episode was directed by Deborah Chow and aired on Disney+[1] on December 18, 2019.[4] The creatures were later identified as Qartuums in an illustration by Phil Tippett in the 2020 reference book The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season One.[2]
