Para fish were a type of silver-scaled fish with black eyes. They were found inhabiting large water bodies on the planet Bogano. Primarily feeding on small fragments of algae and other plants, many of the fish would die off if algae supplies became scarce. When this happened, the decomposition of the dead para fish would raise the acidity of the water body. This acidity would then wear down he ground below the water and form sinkholes.^[1] In 14 BBY,^[2] a group of para fish were living in a pool at the bottom of the cave known as the Subterranean Refuge on Bogano.^[1]

While on Bogano in 14 BBY, the former Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis had his droid companion, BD-1, scan the para fish in the Subterranean Refuge and added an entry on the fish to droid's databank.^[1]
