The packing gown was part of Senator Padmé Amidala's extensive wardrobe. The Naboo ensemble had a black velvet bodice, gray blouse, and dark gray skirt. She wore it while packing to return to Naboo following multiple assassination attempts.

Description[]

The packing gown was part of Padmé Amidala's extensive wardrobe when she was senator of the planet Naboo.[2] It was an informal and relaxed dress by her standards, but it seemed elaborate and formal to others. The Naboo ensemble included a black velvet bodice with a tall collar and a decorative centerpiece of metalwork and turquoise. It was worn over a gray blouse in a light material with puffed sleeves,[1] which were gathered with four metallic bands under each bicep and buttoned cuffs,[2] and paired with a flowing dark gray skirt.[1]

The attire included a three-piece Naboo headdress consisting of precious metal triangles over her ears and forehead, each linked by a connecting chain. She wore her hair styled into large bowl-shaped buns behind and above each ear[1] with a smaller bun at the back of her head.[2]

History[]

"Please don't look at me like that."
"Why not?"
"Because it makes me feel uncomfortable."
"Sorry, my lady."

Amidala-closet

Padmé Amidala wore her packing gown as she prepared to go into hiding.

After multiple attempts to assassinate her[2] in 22 BBY,[3] Amidala wore the gown in her apartment on Coruscant as she packed her luggage to hide on her homeworld. She held a conversation with Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker, her assigned bodyguard with whom she had recently reunited, as she did so. They both voiced frustrations, Amidala about leaving Coruscant before she could oppose the Military Creation Act and Skywalker about feeling held back by his Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. When Skywalker stared too intensely at Amidala, she told him to stop because it made her uncomfortable.[2]
