Onyx Squadron, the Imperial Squadron in which Onyx Four served

Onyx Four was among the TIE/sa bombers serving in the Imperial Onyx Squadron during the Galactic Civil War.[2] In 1 ABY,[4] the Empire discovered a secret Alliance base located on the planet Talus. From an Imperial detachment's headquarters on the planet of Corellia, an attack on the Alliance base was planned out, involving TIE/sa bombers from Onyx Squadron escorting Imperial transports to Talus in the hope that the element of surprise would lead to neutralizing the Alliance base.[3]

During the same night, Onyx Four was among the squadron's bombers that carried through with the attack, bombing the planet and allowing the Imperial transports to successfully land beside the Alliance base for a ground assault that ultimately ended with the base's Jedi defenders overpowering the Imperial ground forces and forcing them to retreat to a nearby Imperial outpost.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Onyx Four was created in 2008 by Squadrons Over Corellia, an expansion set for the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game. Appearing in the game's dark side campaign,[3] the TIE/sa bomber was simultaneously identified by name by one of the game's cards.[2] Onyx Four was drawn by Kieran Yanner.[5]
