"Like Gands, Elnacons hail from an ammonia-rich atmosphere and must wear special breathing apparatus when on other worlds."
―An entry of an artist's journal entry[4]

Nacon was a celestial body located in the regions known as the Deep Core[1] and the Interior.[2] It was situated in grid square L-10 of the Standard Galactic Grid and was connected to[1] the planets[5] Coruscant and Empress Teta by the hyperspace route[1] known as the Koros Trunk Line.[3] Nacon had an atmosphere that was rich in ammonia.[4]

Nacon[6] was the homeworld of the sentient Elnacon species,[4] including[6] Dava Cassamam, a deep cloud-miner who operated on gas giant planets. Like the rest of[4] her[7] species,[4] Cassamam had to wear a special breathing apparatus when traveling off Nacon.[6] At some point, an entry of an artist's journal was dedicated to the Elnacon. In the entry, the species' homeworld was listed as "unknown." The journal was eventually restored, expanded, and displayed at the Graf Archive[4] at some point no earlier than 34 ABY.[8]

Behind the scenes[]

Nacon was first mentioned as the "unknown" homeworld of the Elnacon in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Alien Archive by Natalie Clubb and Katrina Pallant.[4] It was first identified in the 2019 reference book Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition.[6]

The Star Wars Book places the events of The Last Jedi in the same year as the events of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 34 ABY, meaning the document must have been published at some point no earlier than that year.
