Mudhorn eggs were large, fur-covered eggs laid by the non-sentient mudhorn species. The Jawas loved to eat the yolk of such eggs.

Description[]

The mudhorn egg[4] was a type of large egg, covered in brown fur similar to in appearance and texture to a mudhorn's hide. Being oviparous, Mudhorns would lay only a single egg per clutch, burying them within the muddy cave-nests found across the surface of planet Arvala-7. Filled with a thick yellow-orange yolk, these eggs were considered a delicacy by Jawas, who consumed their yolk raw by the handful, though they proved difficult to acquire without outside assistance due to the scarcity and ferocity of mudhorn mothers.[1]

History[]

In 9 ABY,[5] a bounty hunter known as Din Djarin sought an egg from a mudhorn cave at the request of an Offworld Jawa tribe led by chief Chettkap, in exchange for parts the tribe had stolen from the bounty hunter's gunship, the Razor Crest.[1] That same year,[6] Hunter team Utooni, consisting of pair of Jawa brothers, were commonly depicted in-character happily consuming mudhorn eggs on stickers and graffiti.[3]

At some point the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs acquired a mudhorn egg from some Jawas on Arvala-7 while trying to purchase a hypersonic oven and was able to create a batch of Mudhorn Eggnog that lasted him an entire season. He later included a recipe for the beverage in his second cookbook, The Life Day Cookbook, which he released at some point after publishing his first cookbook[2] in 34 ABY.[7]
