Dauntless-over-Jedha

Many settlements on Jedha, such as the Holy City, stood atop natural mesas.

A mesa, also known as a tableland or a plateau,[1] was a naturally occurring, large, raised, flat-topped section of land. Many settlements on the ancient Force-sacred moon of Jedha were situated atop desert mesas,[2] including Jedha City.[3] The desiccated tablelands was a location on Jedha consisting of massive, barren mesas.[1] Mesas were also on the frigid Outer Rim planet Mygeeto,[4][5] where Jedi Master Depa Billaba, Padawan Caleb Dume, and their battalion were tasked with clearing the Southern Mesas of Separatist battle droids. After this, Billaba, Dume and some of the clone troopers, Clone Commander "[Grey (clone trooper)|Grey]], Clone Captain Styles, and trooper Stance, fought B1-series battle droids under the command of[5] the feared leader of the Separatist Droid Army,[6] General Grievous, and the Kage Warrior Colonel Rackham Sear at mesa camp six.[5]
