"I'll take a meiloorun juice. That looks safer. No offense."
"Suit yourself."
"And another one for my young friend."
―Remex Io and 8D-J8[2]

Meiloorun juice was a magenta-colored juice made with meiloorun fruit. The fruit-flavored beverage was potable by Clawdites, humans, and Mriss. It was available by 22 BBY in the Mid Rim and during 34 ABY at Ronto Roasters, a restaurant in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu.

Description[]

Meiloorun juice was a magenta-colored juice made with meiloorun fruit. The fruit-flavored beverage was non-alcoholic[1] and potable by Clawdites,[2] humans,[1] and Mriss.[3]

History[]

By 22 BBY,[4] it was available in the Mid Rim. Idda, the Mriss engineer of the starship Namrelllew, could carry a can of the juice in her beak.[3] In 34 ABY,[5] it was available at Ronto Roasters, a restaurant and meat vendor in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu.[2]

When the war between the First Order and the Resistance reached the outpost that year, the Clawdite bounty hunter Remex Io was also there to meet with fellow members of the Kendoh Gang. While he walked through the Black Spire Outpost Market, the Ronto Roasters pitmaster droid, 8D-J8, attempted to sell a Ronto Wrap to Io. The Clawdite declined and requested meiloruun juice instead as it looked safer to him. As a youth attempted to steal from Io during the transaction, Io ordered a second serving of juice for the would-be thief. 8D-J8 began to select a beverage as Io advised that starvation would be the outcome if the pickpocket's skills did not improve. Upon seeing a First Order shuttle arriving to occupy the outpost, Io fled to avoid attention from stormtroopers and did not receive his drink.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Meiloorun fruit

Meiloorun juice was inspired by the appearance of meiloorun fruit in Star Wars Rebels.

Meiloorun juice is sold in the real world at Ronto Roasters in the themed land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Park. It was officially announced to the public on February 27, 2019 via articles on StarWars.com[6][7] and on D23: The Official Disney Fan Club.[8] The drink was inspired by the meiloorun fruit that appeared in the Star Wars Rebels television series' episode[7] "Fighter Flight,"[9] which was released on-demand on October 13, 2014.[10] On April 24, 2019,[11] the drink first appeared in the debut issue of the Marvel Comics limited series Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, but it was erroneously colored green.[2]

The juice debuted for guests to purchase at Disneyland Park when Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opened on May 31, 2019.[12] As of 2021, it remains exclusive to that park, as it has not been made available at Disney's Hollywood Studios.[13] The menu's description reads: "Pineapple Juice, Minute Maid® Lemonade, with Blueberry, Cranberry Juice, Lemon Juice, and Desert Pear."[14]
