"I see a destination hub for bounty hunters. With a cantina just like the one you used to have."
―T'onga, to Losha Tarkon, on her plans to open a cantina on the Moon of Logal Ri[2]

A cantina was located in Vargo Spaceport on the planet Varkana and was owned by the human Losha Tarkon, who also worked there as a bartender. One beverage it sold was Dark Blue Milk. Around 10 BBY, the crew of the Nautolan bounty hunter Nakano Lash visited the cantina for a briefing.

While at the establishment, the crew member Bossk got into a fight with other patrons, and his fellow crew member T'onga visited the bar to buy a round of drinks for the team. Afterward, Lash spoke to the crew, expressing her hopes that the crew would look out for each other when she died.

Description[]

"Hey. T'onga! You've been gone a long time—and your poor thirsty brother still doesn't have his Dark Blue Milk!"
"You do see I'm by the bar, right, T'ongor? I'm good for my round."
"I saw you ignore two bartenders who came up to you. And I need something to drink—before Bossk gets us kicked out of this place."
―T'ongor and T'onga[1]

A cantina in Vargo Spaceport on the Outer Rim planet Varkana[1] was owned by the human[2] Losha Tarkon,[3] who also worked there as a bartender. It featured gray exterior walls and a copper-colored Aurebesh sign over its front door that partially read "Losha." The establishment had tables for patrons to enjoy beverages—including at least one booth with a brown table and a lantern—and an area for servers to prepare drinks. Above the servers' area, a circular lighting fixture illuminated the room below in a blue hue. The cantina had gray walls featuring silver pillars and gold-colored decorative detailing running horizontally.[1]

History[]

"As I was saying… Even the toughest bounty hunter… Even you, Bossk…is stronger as part of something…bigger. I lost my family when I was very young. Never thought I'd get the chance to have another. Just promise me that you'll look out for each other when I'm gone. So that even at the lowest point, even in your worst moment—you are not alone."
―Nakano Lash, to her crew, while in the cantina[1]

Around 10 BBY,[4] the bounty hunting crew of the Nautolan Nakano Lash visited the cantina for a briefing. While at the establishment, one of the crew's members—the Trandoshan Bossk—got into a fight with Houk patrons. At the same time, T'onga, another member of the crew, went to a bar to get a round of drinks for the group.[1] She,[5] however, became distracted by Tarkon and ignored two other bartenders' attempts to serve her. This resulted in it taking a long amount of time to acquire the drinks that[1] her twin[6] brother T'ongor went to see what had taken her so long, as he was in need of a Dark Blue Milk before Bossk got the crew kicked out of the cantina for fighting. When[1] he[6] realized the reason for the delay, T'ongor told his sister that he would have to get his own drink and returned to the crew's booth.[1]

The crew of the Nautolan bounty hunter Nakano Lash (second from left) visited the cantina around 10 BBY.

After T'ongor arrived back at the booth, Bossk, who had since stopped fighting with the Houks, attempted to bait the cyborg Beilert Valance into fighting him, though it failed as Lash held back the cyborg and told him to settle down. Immediately after, T'onga arrived at the booth, and the Nautolan began talking to the crew, telling them[1] she[6] saw them as her family. Lash then asked the crew to promise her that they would look out for each other after she had died so that even at their lowest points or in their worst moments, they would not be alone. With this, the Nautolan raised her drink in a toast, and T'onga clinked her beverage with Valance.[1]

Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[7] after returning to their home on the Moon of Logal Ri, T'onga informed Tarkon[2]—now her wife[5]—of her plans to open a cantina on the moon, and reminded Tarkon of the cantina[2] she[5] had owned. The two, along with their business partner Cadeliah then discussed ideas for what the cantina would have.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

The cantina first appeared, in flashbacks, in the thirtieth issue of the comic series Star Wars: Bounty Hunters. The issue was written by Ethan Sacks, penciled by Paolo Villanelli, and published by Marvel Comics[1] on January 18, 2023.[8]
