The title of this article is conjectural.

Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

«You want to see what I have in stock? I know my kiosk isn't much to look at, but my prices are reasonable and the merchandise is sound.»
―Larrim, advertising their store[1]

The Twi'lek male Larrim owned a small kiosk located in an apartment complex occupied by mostly non-humans on the Outer Rim planet Taris, where it sold basic weapons and equipment. In 3956 BBY, during the Jedi Civil War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, former Sith Lord Revan spoke with Larrim at their kiosk, where the Twi'lek advertised an expensive energy shield.

Description[]

«I run a little shop here in this old building, selling basic equipment to the illegal aliens renting out these apartments.»
―Larrim, to Revan[1]

The kiosk was a small store set up in the South Apartments, an apartment complex ring located in the Upper City of the Outer Rim planet Taris. It consisted of a simple stand, on which products were displayed, and several adjacent plasteel storage cylinders.[1]

History[]

«Questions? I'd rather not. It might be bad for business if people saw me answering a bunch of questions for a human. Most of the residents here are illegal aliens, questions are frowned on. I don't want to lose the trust of my customers.»
―Larrim, to Revan[1]
Larrim

The kiosk was owned by Larrim, a Twi'lek merchant.

During the Jedi Civil War, a period of conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, a small kiosk was owned and run by[1] the Twi'lek male[2] vendor Larrim. The kiosk mostly catered to non-humans, who were forced to live illegally in Taris's Upper City due to the city-world's speciesist laws. Larrim sold weapons, including a variety of blasters, melee weapons, mines, and grenades. The kiosk also offered other basic equipment, such as armor, stimulants, and medpacs. Larrim stocked a single expensive and hi-tech personal energy shield, capable of deflecting energy attacks, such as those from blasters or lightsabers, but not attacks from ion blasters.[1]

In 3956 BBY,[3] a battle over Taris between a Sith fleet and the Republic Hammerhead-class cruiser Endar Spire occurred. Before the cruiser was destroyed, several escape pods were launched, one of which contained Jedi Padawan Bastila Shan, whose battle meditation ability was important to the Republic war effort. In an effort to find and capture Shan, Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Malak, ordered that Taris be occupied and quarantined, with no ships allowed to leave or land on the planet. The quarantine harmed many businesses on the world, and many off-worlders were left trapped.[1]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon within the Star Wars Legends continuity.

Several days later, survivor of the battle overhead and former Sith Lord Revan, whose memories were lost and replaced with those of a loyal Republic soldier, walked by Larrim's kiosk. Larrim approached Revan, who had been hiding out in a nearby abandoned apartment, and introduced themself. The Twi'lek advertised their store and informed Revan of the energy shield they were selling, explaining its rumored Echani origin and its ability to defend the user from energy attacks. Revan asked about the kiosk, and Larrim described their business and explained the situation of non-humans in the Upper City. Larrim was reluctant to answer other questions, fearing they could lose the trust of their customers. Instead, they directed Revan to Kadir, the building's janitor, who had the reputation of being harmless and near-senile, and could be asked questions without drawing attention.[1]

Frustrated with the time the search for Shan was taking, Darth Malak eventually ordered the orbital bombardment of the entire planet, destroying the vast majority of the Upper City.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The kiosk first appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, developed by BioWare. If the player walks by the kiosk, the non-player character Larrim engages them in an unavoidable conversation, in which no dialogue options affect plot, quests, or alignment. During the conversation, if Republic soldier Carth Onasi is in the player's party, he will comment on the uselessness of the personal energy shield against melee weapons, which caused the Republic to train their soldiers in hand-to-hand combat. If the player approaches the kiosk and speaks to Larrim while wearing Sith trooper armor, they cannot buy or sell items, and Larrim will instead insist they don't want trouble with the Sith and wish Revan a good day.[1]
