This article is about Krenher sector of the Core Worlds.
You may be looking for the Krenhner sector of the Inner Rim.

The Krenher sector was located in the Core Worlds and included the Hyabb and Voon systems as well as the Hyabb-Twith Corridor hyperlane. The planet Hyabb was involved in a war against the neighboring planet Twith that lasted almost since the foundation of the Galactic Republic.

That conflict was further exacerbated when, tens of millennia later, the Nelori Marauders set up a base on the planet Voon, the location of which on the disputed Hyabb-Twith Corridor allowed them to carry out raids on nearby star systems without repercussions. Eventually, however, the Jedi Order waged the Hyabb-Twith Campaigns against the Marauders that included fighting on Voon and ultimately saw the Marauders' defeat.

Description[]

The Krenher sector was a part of the Core Worlds. It contained the Hyabb and Voon systems,[1] which were linked by the hyperlane known as the Hyabb-Twith Corridor.[2]

The Krenher sector systems of Hyabb and Voon

The Krenher sector's Hyabb and Voon systems[1] contained the planets Hyabb[4] and Voon, respectively,[3] and the Hyabb-Twith Corridor also linked them to the[2] neighboring[3] Twith system.[2] Hyabb and the planet Twith were at a state of continuous war that had lasted nearly since the foundation of the Galactic Republic[4] in 25,053 BBY.[5] The Hyabb-Twith Corridor consequently became a virtually empty no-man's-land region between the two heavily-armed worlds. Neither Hyabb or Twith dared to risk repercussions from the other by dispatching patrol ships into the disputed zone, and the neighboring systems were also actively discouraged from entering that territory.[3] By approximately 17,000 BBY, Hyabb had become a part of the Republic.[6]

The sector saw further troubles[3] decades before 4050 BBY,[7] the band of warriors[8] and pirates[9] known as the Nelori Marauders was driven off its homeworld Dachat. The Nelori Marauders took advantage of the tensions between Hyabb and Twith and established their new main base on Voon. Since neither Hyabb or Twith could afford to risk taking any action against the bandits,[3] the Nelori preyed upon the governments of both planets.[9]

Furthermore, the Nelori Marauders raided starships both on the Hyabb-Twith Corridor[9] and in the nearby systems. When the Nelori sphere of control began to extend deeper into the Republic's territory, the Jedi Order dispatched a task force of Jedi Knights to eliminate the threat posed by the Marauders. Following a series of confrontations that were known as the Hyabb-Twith Campaigns and involved two battles at Voon, the Jedi were victorious over the Nelori, shattering the latter's sphere of influence.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

The Krenher sector was first mentioned in the 1998 Star Wars Encyclopedia by Stephen J. Sansweet. In the book, however, the sector's name was a misspelling that built upon[10] a previous mention of Krenhner Sector Station[11]—which Star Wars Encyclopedia similarly misspelled as "Krenher Sector Station."[10] The erroneous spelling of the sector's name was repeated in the 2000 book A Guide to the Star Wars Universe, Third Edition, Revised and Expanded[12] before the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 book The Essential Atlas ultimately established the Krenher sector and the Krenhner sector as two separate entities.[1]

  7. Tales of the Jedi Companion establishes that the Nelori Marauders were defeated in the Hyabb-Twith Campaigns "decades" prior to Arca Jeth becoming a Jedi Master. In addition, The New Essential Chronology and The New Essential Guide to Alien Species both establish that Jeth had attained that rank by the time he participated in the Jedi victory over the Lorell Raiders. Since Galaxy at War dates the defeat of the Lorell Raiders to approximately 4050 BBY, the Hyabb-Twith Campaigns must have occurred decades prior to that date.
