Kinro was a comet that was predicted to carve a path through the Core Worlds eons before the Galactic Civil War. Before the comet reached the Mid Rim, the Jedi Order banded together and willed it apart. Several Jedi lost their lives or minds while breaking the comet apart.^[1] The remnants of Kinro formed an asteroid field that orbited the planet Akiva in the Outer Rim's Akiva system.^[2]

Shortly after the Battle of Endor, the Oculus, a Carrack-class light cruiser, took refuge in the comet's debris.^[1]
