Kathryn Hunter is an American-born, British actress[3] who portrayed Eedy Karn in Andor.[2] She is best known for her theater work, and for playing Arabella Figg in the 2007 film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and the Three Witches in the 2021 film The Tragedy of Macbeth.[3]

For Andor, Hunter and Kyle Soller, Syril Karn's actor, worked together on a story about Karn's father. The story was that he left early on in an acrimonious and horrible way. They both thought Eedy being wronged was the launchpad for how she raised Syril. The actors believed that Eedy's anger, grief, disappointment, and frustration of him leaving filtered into Syril.[4]

  3. 3.0 3.1 The Tragedy of Macbeth's Kathryn Hunter: 'The car crash wasn't an accident – it was a suicide attempt' by Sarah Crompton on The Independent (February 5, 2022): "Kathryn Hunter is riding high. She's just played all three witches in a scene-stealing performance in Joel Coen's bravura film of Macbeth, which is being talked up for major awards. A genuine theatrical star has suddenly made an impact on the big screen and is finding a wider audience – to her obvious pleasure. (...) But apart from a brief turn as Arabella Figg in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, cinema has not seen much of her transformational understanding of character. (...) "When I got the part in Harry Potter it was wonderful for my nieces and nephews. My credibility went up. So, because I am of Greek origin [Hunter was born in New York, but grew up in the UK], I feel it would be wonderful for the Greek community." (archived from the original on February 21, 2022)
