Kasiol 3, also known as Kasiol's third planet, was a world located in the Outer Rim Territories' Pelgrin sector. Its surface featured forests and numerous swamps. The local fauna included the herlixx, a species of amphibian omnivore that hunted fish and smaller amphibians. Kasiol 3 had been colonized by the time of the reign of the Galactic Empire.

Kasiol 3,[4] also referred to as Kasiol's third planet, was a terrestrial world that occupied the third orbital position[2] in the Kasiol system, a part of the Outer Rim Territories' Pelgrin sector.[1] The planet's terrain included many swamps, as well as marshes, forests, and river tributaries.[2] The flora of Kasiol 3 included algae,[4] trees, and vines. Kasiol 3 was the homeworld of the herlixx, a species of omnivorous amphibian. The creatures hunted fish and other, smaller amphibians both in water and from the trees' branches[2] and supplemented their diet with leaves and algae.[4] To avoid predators, the herlixx hunted for food during early morning hours.[2]

Kasiol 3 was settled at some point by the reign of the Galactic Empire. The colonists occasionally encountered the local herlixx, with the creatures frequently reacting with curiosity and fear to the sentients' presence. Kasiol 3 was mentioned in an entry of a holobrochure for the Tagge Holographic Museum of[2] the planet[5] Chandrila dedicated to the herlixx, which noted that there existed no recorded instance of the creatures ever attacking sentient inhabitants of the planet.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Kasiol's third planet was created by Rick D. Stuart for the 1994 sourcebook Creatures of the Galaxy, published by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[2] It was identified as Kasiol 3 by the 2008 The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia,[4] while the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Kasiol system, and therefore Kasiol 3, in grid square R-18.[3]
